The Equipment Demonstration & Evaluation Facility (EDEF) project consists of the construction of a new ground up Control Building (6,168 Sq Ft.) outside of the substation boundary of the Shawnee Substation in Westminster, California. The EDEF control building will provide SCE technology engineers a platform to demonstrate, test, and evaluate equipment, in a controlled energized environment simulating real-world circuit conditions. Scope of work also included design/build of a 10’ block wall & chain link fence around the perimeter of the substation, demo of existing building outside of the substation, and various on and off site improvements.
