Remodel of existing occupied woman's dormitory. The project consisted of remodeling a five story, 3 wing dormitory at 50,000 sq.ft. The remodel consisted of providing new casework for all rooms, new HVAC throughout, consisting of chilled and hot water hydronic systems with the addition of new fan coils for all rooms. New domestic water systems throughout the building were installed including new heat exchangers and piping. The public restrooms were remodeled to meet ADA code requirements, including new ADA showers, toilets and lavs. A new electrical system to support the new building equipment was installed. New lighting, flooring and paint completed the project. The schedule required that the project be complete with no time extensions due to semester start times and housing requirements. The project was increased in size by about 20%, despite the additional work the schedule was maintained with the cooperation of the owner and end user by means of making provisions for overtime.
